Yesterday, I pulled six carrots from beneath the snow. I made a rich mayo salad with eggs from Victoria's girls, and I pulled a farmers' loaf out of the freezer from the boulangerie. I fired up the griddle, toasted the bread, and sat down to eat. February is beautiful, when you take the time to see.
I'll be out of town this next week, up in Maine with Alex's family and my parents. We'll be on skis, eating pot roast and chili. I'll see you when we get back. Until then, stay warm, enjoy the snow, and happy cooking. xo
